Current projects
Mineland to Farmland is exploring how rehabilitated mine land could transition into productive, sustainable agricultural systems. The goal is to move beyond rehabilitation as an end point, and instead consider post-mining land as an opportunity to create new economic, environmental and social value for Western Australia.
In 2026, the WA Agricultural Research Collaboration (WAARC) is sponsoring a Churchill Fellowship focused on strengthening Western Australia's agriculture and food sector through international learning and real-world impact.
The new WAARC and Grower Group Alliance (GGA) Honours Partnership Program launched in 2026, strengthens WAARC's commitment to building research capability, industry-ready skills and future leadership across the State.
The Agrivoltaics project brings together leading researchers, growers and energy experts from across Australia to explore the co-location of solar panels and agricultural production – known as agrivoltaics.
