Reflecting on WAARC’s first three years

After three years establishing and leading the WA Agricultural Research Collaboration (WAARC), I would like to share some news. As of 31 August, I have stepped down as Director.
This has not been an easy decision, and I will be sad to leave WAARC and the incredible people I have had the privilege of working alongside. At the same time, I take great satisfaction in knowing I am leaving WAARC with strong foundations in place, a talented team, and a range of initiatives that are delivering benefits to Western Australian agriculture.
As I reflect on my time as Director, I am incredibly proud of what the team has achieved over the past three years. Together, we have built WAARC from an idea into an influential collaboration that is helping shape the future of agricultural research, development and extension (R,D&E) in Western Australia. I am proud of the momentum that has been created and grateful to everyone who has contributed along the way.
WAARC’s vision was ambitious: to bring together researchers, industry and government to tackle WA’s agricultural challenges and opportunities through greater collaboration and shared investment. Today, that vision is being translated into tangible outcomes across the State.
