WAARC’s State Government funding is not a stand-alone funding source for research projects. For research proposals to be eligible for funding through WAARC, the following prerequisites must be met:
- The proposal must contribute to delivering on the aims of one or more of the six WAARC research programs
- The proposal must be led by one of the WAARC members (DPIRD, UWA, Curtin, Murdoch, CSIRO or GGA), with a minimum of three WAARC members participating
- WAARC partners must match WAARC funding with cash and/or institutional in-kind (Co-contributions), which must then be matched by external funding, in the following ratio (1 : 1 : 2 or WAARC Funds : Co-contributions : External Funds).
- The project must provide opportunities for at least one PhD or post graduate student
Once you have confirmed your research proposal meets the above criteria, email: info@waarc.org.au for more information
If you are yet to secure External Funds for your research project, your proposal may still be submitted and assessed to receive In-Principal approval. Please note, special conditions apply to the approval process and in addition formal approval will need to be sought once External Funding is secured for the project.
