Hi all,
The WA Agricultural Research Collaboration (WAARC) has recently taken an important step forward with a restructure of our Executive team. For many of you, this will be the first time hearing about these changes, so I want to share what’s different, why we’ve made this move, and what it means for WAARC’s future.
Previously, WAARC operated with six Program Leads, some of whom were part-time, each overseeing one of our research programs. While this model gave us strong coverage, it also meant our efforts were sometimes spread too thin, and our ability to build strategic, whole-of-organisation initiatives was limited.
In response, we have streamlined our structure. We now have two full-time Strategic Research Managers (SRMs) – Dr Kirsty Moynihan and Dr John Statton – working across all WAARC programs. Our SRMs are tasked with strengthening WAARC’s research portfolio, building partnerships, securing investment, and ensuring our projects are strategically aligned and delivering maximum impact.
Alongside them, Jenny Crisp continues in her role as Program Lead, with a portfolio that covers both Capacity Building and Extension, as well as Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). Jenny’s leadership of our postgraduate program remains central to WAARC’s mission, ensuring WA’s next generation of researchers and leaders are connected, supported, and given opportunities to grow and innovate.
Warm regards,
